The Sunshine Tour is in mourning today
At around 6.30 this morning Nina Fagerstrom’s lorry caught on fire here at Montenmedio, for causes as of yet unknown.
At around 6.30 this morning Nina Fagerstrom’s lorry caught on fire here at Montenmedio, for causes as of yet unknown. At the time Vicente Quinta Sánchez, was inside the living area of the lorry where the fire broke out and has passed away.
The Organising Committee here at the Sunshine Tour, led by the Blázquez family wishes to send their deepest sympathy and sadness to the family and friends of Vicente at this tragic time.
The sixth week of competition will start here at the Tour tomorrow, 19th of March with the flags at half mast and they will remain so until for duration of the Tour. Also tomorrow at 12:00, the Tour will be halted and a minute of silence will be held to honour the memory of Vicente.
