A New victory for Mel Thijssen in the Longines Ranking class

Today this talented Dutch rider took her third victory here at the Andalucía Pre-Sunshine Tour with ‘Florida Balia NL’

Dutch rider, Mel Thijssen is on a winning streak here at the Andalucía Pre-Sunshine Tour, clocking up her third victory in the two phase, 1.45 Longines Ranking class, held in the Milton arena. She was riding the 14yr old mare, ‘Florida Balia NL’, who is by ‘Bustique’, Dam sire ‘Lux Z’. Second was another rider who is on top form, British, Nicole Lockhead Anderson with ‘I Am a Harley’ and in third was the Spanish rider, Luis Mateos Bernáldez with ‘Chamant de Biolley’. Completing the podium were Swiss, Edouard Schmitz with ‘Karel Doorman’ and Spanish local rider, Carlos Bosch Cebrián with ‘Jolie Van Der Berghoeve’.

 

Italian, Luca Moneta also continues on a successful streak, winning yet another class in this event which is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalucía, through Tourism and Sports of Andalucía. Luca won the 1.40 class today with ‘Knock Out’; second was Íñigo López de la Osa Franco (MON) with ‘Demeter Des Carmilles’; Edouard Schmitz (SUI) was third with ‘Lux’; Camilla Vittadini  (ITA) had another successful day, coming in fourth with ‘Ganesh Des Till’ and Maksymilian Wechta (POL) was fifth with ‘Chepettano’.

 

There was a British win in the  1.30 from Alfie Bradstock with ‘Bigstar Derick’; second was Pedro Mateos Bernáldez with ‘Naroby Van De Fruitkorf’; third, Íñigo López de la Osa with ‘Golden Diamond’. Fourth and fifth were Spanish riders, Marta Garat Macías with ‘Julieta del Amor’ and José Antonio García Diana with ‘Longchamp’.

 

In the 1.20 the British rider, James Wilson was our winner with ‘Hello Picobello Z’ and in the 1.10, another British rider, Richard Jenkinson was the winner with ‘Jiroscade’.

 

In the Young Horses, 7yr olds, ’Cornet’s Lover’ (Cornet du Lys) was once again top in his class with his Dutch rider, Rogier Linssen; second was another very successful mare, ’Radjamerci Van de Vlasbloemhoeve’ ridden by James Wilson and in third was ‘Lovely Rose de Bellignies’  with Portuguese rider, Hugo Tavares.

 

The winner of the 5yr olds was  ‘Call Me Beauty Cityhorse Z’ (Chackfly PS) with the Greek rider, Danai Besdemioti-Abramidou; and second and third were ‘Lou Van Het Eikenhof Z’ and ‘Like A G6 MKM Z’, both ridden by Cassandre Malherbe for Belgium.

 

Competition continues tomorrow  with seven classes. Access to the showgound and parking in large designated areas, is free to the public. There are plenty of things to alongside the competition; there is a large selection of shops in the commercial zone and various restaurants to suit all tastes; all in all the Andalucía Sunshine Tour is a great family day out.
