A Polish win from Marek Lewicki and ‘La Pezi’ in the Hipotels Trophy

Sofía Westborg, from Sweden wins the Medium Tour 1.45 with ‘Alencia Von Hary Z’

In just 60.50s the fast Polish rider, Marek Lewicki and the top 11yr old mare, ‘La Pezi’, (‘Lord Pezi Junior’ x ‘Ludwig Von Bayern’) jumped a polished round and won the 1.50 Trofeo Hipotels Trophy today in the Milton arena.  They were a clear second ahead of the British rider who took second place, Tabitha Kyle and ‘Desterly’. Third was another top British rider, William Whitaker with ‘Chacco’s Lando’; fourth was Irish, Jessica Burke with ‘Express Trend’ and Marie Demonte continues her top placings with fifth today on ‘Forban da Hermida’.  This class was kindly sponsored by the Hipotels Hotel chain whose Hipotels Gran Conil, is the official hotel of the Andalucía Sunshine Tour.

 

Swedish rider, Sofía Westborg, was the winner of the Medium Tour 1.45 class, also held in the Milton arena.  She was riding ’Alencia Von Hary Z’,  who is a 12 year old mare by ‘Action-Breaker’ x ‘Ernest’.  The Whitakers took over the next two places in this class with Ellen in second and recently arrived legend, John Whitaker in third. Ellen was riding ‘Conshira Blue PS’ and John ‘Sharid’.  In fourth was Irish, Jack Ryan with  ‘Sympathie 60’ and in fifth was Spanish home rider, Teresa Blázquez Abascal with ‘Diabla PS’.

 

There was an Irish victory in the Medium Tour 1.40 from Emily Turkington with ‘Diwali de Runya’.  Spanish, Kevin González de Zárate was second with ‘Cantuccini 17’; third was British, Nicole Lockhead Anderson with ‘Chinoubet PS’;  another Spanish rider took fourth, Álvaro Castro Román with ‘Brigitte’ and finally in fifth, was Italian, Luca Moneta with ‘Jolie Coeur D’Avril’.

 

Kevin González de Zárate was also the winner of the Big Tour 1.35 with ‘Loek’, and  Nicole took second place in this class with ‘Madagascar Dwerse Hagen’.  In third was British,  Chloe Winchester with ‘Ladoselli W.’;  fourth was Belgian, Dominique Joassin with ‘In Love’ and in fifth was Spanish, Eduardo Álvarez Aznar with ‘Qevita VD Bisschop’.

 

In the last CSI4* class today, the Medium Tour 1.30, the winner was British, Joe Fernyhough with ‘Calcourt Countdown’, the only pair to stop the clock in under a min,   whist second place was taken by Irish, Billy Twomey with ‘La Vie’.  In third was British, Laura Mantel with ‘Arizona D’Ive Z’;  fourth Australian, James Arkins with ‘Braveheart R’ and fifth was Spanish rider, Francisco Asís Arango with ‘City Meel’.

 

Winners in the Young Horse classes were as follows:  the eight year olds,  British, Jake Myers with ‘Gamin Des Rondets’:  the seven year olds, Czech, Natalie Opatrna with  ‘Don’ and Spanish, Sergio Álvarez Moya with ‘Be Blue’:  the six year olds,  British riders,  Emily Ward with ‘Witchela HF’ and Jude Burgess with ‘Starcent’:  the five year olds, Belgian, Cassandre Malherbe repeated her win from yesterday,  with ‘Lou Van Het Eikenhof Z’ and  Maisy Williams, moving up from yesterday’s second place to the top of the podium today, with ‘Tuinman Van de Lentamel’.
