Around 100 horses took to the arena today in the start up of week three of the Autumn Tour

The Irish rider Billy Twomey started off his week in style winning the 7yr old class with Pewit Dezoito.

Competition returned to the arenas here at the Sunshine Tour today with almost 100 Young Horses jumping in this, the third week, of the new Autumn Tour.  The classes were the 5, 6 and 7yr old sections, with the lower ages jumping to obtain clear rounds.  All classes were held in the surfaced, Milton Arena.

Billy Twomey, Ireland, had the fastest time in the 7yr old class and rode his own very talented Pewit Dezoito (A Pikachu de Muze x Werther) to their second victory in this section, that they also won in the first week here.  British rider Matt Sampson was second with Rachael Evison’s Jafabalou (Balou de Rouet x Concorde Keur).   Another Irish rider, Tom Wachman with the lovely Cornet Obolensky mare,  Calindra 2 (dam sire (ds) Gralshueter) was third.

There were 12 horses clear in the 6yr old class and 10 went clear in the 5yr olds, all adding these results to their accumulative scores.

This starts off a busy week here at the show-center which will end on Sunday.  Just under 300 horses are due to compete across around 30 classes.  As usual this week’s show includes Longines Ranking classes and to finish off on Sunday, a Grand Prix with Olympic qualifying points for the Tokyo 2021 Olympic games.

We are delighted to welcome some new arrivals this week with top national and international riders joining us including the Dutch riders, Henk Van de Pol and Eric Van der Vleuten;  Italian riders Antonio Alfonso and Emanuele Camilli;  the Irish rider Dermott Lennon;  Brasilian riders, Pedro Veniss and Karina Johanpeter;  Portuguese rider, Duarte Seabra,  Turkish rider, Derin Demirsoy and Spanish riders Paloma Barceló, Santiago Núñez Riva and Joel Valles.

We would like to remind you that although entry to the facilities is restricted you may follow each class with Live Streaming on our website, www.sunshinetour.net. or using the Sunshine Tour App.
