British Emma Crawford with ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ win the Royal Bliss Small Grand Prix

Amke Bekhuis with ‘Acuero’ win the Fuze Tea Trophy class

Anthony Bourquard and ‘Festival Semilly’ shine in the Pavo, Medium Tour Grand Prix

 

Iwan Carpenter and ‘Merllyn’s Chacco B’ win the Jump & Drive Range Rover Marbella – C de Salamanca

 

There was a British win from Emma Crawford and the 13yr old ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ (‘Caretino’ x ‘Clearway’) in the 1.45, Royal Bliss Small GP in the Milton arena today. They beat off 10 other horses in the jump off where only three went clear. Second was Swiss rider, Anthony Bourquard with ‘Everest d’Ellipse’ (‘Vagabond de la Pomme’ x ‘Kannan’); third was Jessica Burke for Ireland with ‘Good Star du Bary’ (‘Rock’n Roll Semilly’ x ‘Obreron du Moulin’). Fourth Brazilian, Pedro Veniss and ‘CS Hortencia’ and in fifth was Belgian rider, Louise Ameeuw with ‘Kaliber’.

 

The Swiss anthem sounded out across the Hickstead arena here at Montenmedio today in the celebration of a brilliant win from Anthony Bourquard in the Pavo sponsored, Medium Tour Grand Prix with the 10yr old, ’Festival de Semilly’ ‘(Tornesch’ x ‘Orame’). In a really competitive, eight horse jump off they mastered the roll back turn and took a stride out in the last line to finish on a time of 38.92s. Last to go British rider, William Whitaker and ‘Millfield Quickstep’ (‘Quiwi Dream’) were second followed by Spanish, Inma Roquet Autonell with ‘Elba del Maset’ (‘Eilan del Maset’); fourth was German, Zoe Osterhoff with ‘Qaparezzo-A’ (‘Arezzo VDL’ x ‘Corland’) and fifth, British, Rebecca Marsh with ‘Izara des Dames’ (‘Emerald’ x ‘Calvaro F.C.’).

 

The 1.45 Small Tour, Fuze Tea Trophy, David Broome was a 2Ph Sp in the David Broome grass arena. The winner was the Dutch rider, Amke Bekhuis with ‘Acuero’ (‘Acorado’ x ‘Catoki’), who stopped the clock in the second phase in 28.56 segundos. British Ben Walker was second with ‘Crevy Pacino Cruise’ (‘Pacino’ x ‘Cruising’) and another Dutch rider took third, Liv Linssen with ‘Lyn’ (‘Contendro II’ x ‘Tenerife VDL’). Fourth was Spanish, José Antonio García Diana with ‘Dearest Diamond RS’ (‘Diamant de Semilly’) and fifth was British, Ava Vernon with ‘Volnay de Choc Z’ (‘Vivaldi du Seigneur’ x ‘Galopin du Boele’).

 

The rest of today’s results: Hungarian Laszlo Toth continued his excellent form here at  the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, which is kindly sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and by the Diputación provincial de Cádiz. Today Laszlo won the Big Tour 1.35 with ‘Ching’; Portuguese, Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida was last to go in the Medium Tour 1.50 and won the class in great style with ‘Comme le Coeur’; Irish, Jason Foley and ‘Casia Z’ were the winners of the 1.40; British Red Morgan was top of the podium in the 1.30 with ‘True Blue III’ and Mexican rider, Claudia Michel won the 1.20 with ‘Carquilara PS’.

 

The Small Tour results: Portuguese, Alice Laruça and ‘Karim’ won the 1.35 and British, Ellie Guy with ‘Origi van de Bandam’ were the winners of the 1.30.

 

The Classic Tour winners were; British, Taio Strevett with ‘Harrop Grigio’ in the 1.30; Spanish, Ángeles Velasco Ferret with ‘Bijoux’ won the 1.20 and British rider, Lauren Caley with ‘A-Lemonade Z’the 1.10.

 

The fun class of the day was the Jump & Drive which was sponsored by Range Rover Marbella – C de Salamanca and where the riders had to jump a short course, dismount, complete a small obstacle course, jump into a Range Rover and complete a course in the vehicle as fast and accurately as possible. This lighthearted class was held in the largest indoor arena in the world that can be dismantled. Our winner was British, Iwan Carpenter who was fastest over all the three challenges, riding ‘Merllyn’s Chacco B’ in the first phase. Second was Irish, Seamus Hughes Kennedy with ‘Castlefield Hera’ and third Swiss rider, Olivier Bujard with ‘Dominant van het Keizershof Z’, well done to all participants and the very enthusiastic crowd!

 

In the Dressage today the Freestyle classes also attracted a crowd to watch these very artistic tests. Portuguese, Rita Ralao Duarte and ‘Irao’ were the winners of the Grand Prix with a wonderfull harmonious test, choreography and musical interpretation.
