Carolina Villanueva Suárez and ‘Voice De Chenaie’ winners of the Medium Tour 1.40

This pair had a storming win in the biggest class held today

The young Spanish rider, Carolina Villanueva Suárez had a very fast win in the Medium Tour 1.40, which was our biggest class of the day, when rain really did stop play across the board.  Despite the inclement weather, Carolina rode a great round on her 15yr old, ‘Voice de Chenaie’, who is by top breeding stallion, ’Diamant de Semilly’ x ‘Leopard Du Castel’.  This pair stopped the clock in just 61.80s well ahead of the other competitors and it wasn’t Carolina’s only win today as she was also top of the podium in the Medium Tour 1.20 with her mare, ’Emotion De L’Extase’.

Second in the MT 1.40 and continuing her great run of top results here, was the French rider, Marie Demonte with ‘Cimply the Best’ (‘Cabachon’ x ‘Vivant Van de Heffinck’) in 67.98s, and in third was Swedish Sofía Wesborg with ‘Calvin FP Z’ (‘Calvados Z’ x ‘Bollvorm’s Libero H’).

There was a top three for Spain, from Beatriz Aranegui Benito with ‘Yaman Bay’;  Iraia Sainz Martínez with ‘Chipie Dip Z and  Oihane García Urtasun with ‘Dallila’  in the Small Tour 1.30.  The Medium Tour 1.20 also had a Spanish top three; and behind Carolina, in second were, Nora García Urtasun with ‘Glorya Zimequest’ and Nerea Onaindia Barroeta with ‘Kannantoss’.

The British took over the podium in the CSI1* 1.20; Rebecca Middleton with ‘Okehurst Mr Smooth’ took the top spot; Lisa Keys with ‘Herne Van de Poenjaard Z’ was second and Harriet Thompson with ‘Heros Chin de Litrange III’ was third.

German, Juliette Berghmans with ‘D Day de Lison Z’ won the 2Ph Sp, 1.10;  Irish, Matilde Hughes Bravo was second with ‘Miss Belgium 111’ and Spanish, Andrea Mendez Herrera with ‘Leonore H’ completed the podium.

These are today’s main results and well done to all the competitors on a day when the weather really didn’t allow the normal timetable to be completed.  This means that the Longines Ranking, Small Grand Prix from today,  is now scheduled to be held tomorrow.
