Competition starts back up at the II Andalucía October Tour with over 150 entries in the Young Hors

Erika Lickhammer-Van Helmond wins the 7yr old class with ‘Koberlina TN’

The Young Horses were back in the arenas today here at the II Andalucía October Tour with around 150 horses across the three age classes .

 

The 7yr old class was held in the grass arena, HIckstead and the winner of the class was the Swedish rider, Erika Lickhammer-Ven Helmond. She was riding the mare ‘Koberlina TN’ (‘Eldorado Van de Zeshoek’ x ‘Verdi’) and stopped the clock in the second phase in 24.41s.  This was a close run class with some very talented 7yr olds taking part, and very close on Erika’s heels was the fast Irish rider who has already been very succsessful here at the Tour, Niamh Mcevoy who was riding  ‘BP Limitless’ ( ‘Elvis Ter Putte’ x ‘Laughton’s Flight’) who is owned by Breen Equestrian Ltd.  Just coming in third was the Spanish rider, Armando Trapote with  ‘Diabla PS’ (‘Chacco Lover’ x ‘Toulon’). In all there were 35 clear rounds in the class.

 

The 5 and 6yr olds started off their week with  ‘faults no time’ classes, there were 19 clears in the 5yr olds and 23 in the 6yr olds.  Tomorrow they will jump again this time in 2Ph Sp classes and the 7yr olds will had a speed class.

 

Alongside the Young Horse classes tomorrow, the second CSI3* starts up with four classes including the 1.45m class which will be on grass in the David Broome arena. New arrivals this week include Brazilian rider, Perdo Veniss; Dermott Lennon for Ireland; Swiss rider, Alain Jufer and Portuguese riders, Rodrigo Giesteira and Duarte Seabra, who will be among the other international riders participating in the Grand Prix qualifier class for the 2023 European Championships.
