Dutch rider, Sanne Thijssen riding ‘Hi There’, wins the WKD Trophy
Czech rider Ales Opatrny is second with ‘Forewer’ and Canadian, Tim Wilks third with ‘Diamanthella VG Z’ in this Longines Ranking class
Dutch rider, Sanne Thijssen added another top result to her tally today with the lovely stallion, ‘Hi There’, who is eleven years old, and who Sanne has been riding since 2018. This is one of their best results together at this height, 1.50m, the stallion is by ‘Nabab de Reve’, dam sire, ‘Numero Uno’.They were actually first to go in this Longines Ranking speed class, which had 94 participants, but nobody managed to beat their time of 60.52 s.
Czech rider, Ales Opatrny with ‘Forewer’ (‘Caruso 279’ x ‘Grossadmiral’) was closest, taking second place in 60.53s and Canadian rider, Tim Wilks was third with ‘Diamanthella VG Z’ (‘Diamant de Semilly’ x ‘Hickory Mail’). Fourth was the Danish rider, Martin Dinesen Neergaard with ‘First Choice HT’ (‘Favorit Ask’ x ‘Contendro I’); and finishing off the placings was Spanish, Kevin González de Zárate with ‘Conthargos Rouge’ (‘Conthargos’ x ‘Papillon Rouge’). The Andalucía Sunshine Tour 2023, is sponsored by the ‘Consejería de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte’ and co-financed by the European Union.
The Big Tour 1.35, had a large number of entries and two sets of prizes were given out. One of the winners, and with the fastest the of the day was the Dutch rider, Doron Kuipers with ‘Just a Moment Van’t Heerenhuys’; the other winner was British rider, who is having a very successful tour, Skye Higgin with ‘Gotcha’. Second were Maksymilian Wechta (POL) with ‘Fibonacci S’ and Dries Dekkers (BEL) with ‘Kalesco’. Third were Maximilian Lill (GER) with ‘Olina Van de Noordheuvel’ and Valentín Besnard (FRA) with ‘E Pleasure Beaufour’.
In the 1.30, there was another British winner, Will Edwards with ‘Magic Chanti’ whose time in the second phase was 34 seconds dead. Olivier Perreau for France was second but over 1.5s slower, with ‘GL Events Faustine Sauvage’ and third was Valentin Besnard this time riding ‘Pajou Van Beaugaarde’.
In the Medium Tour 1.45, there were also over 100 entries and two sets of winners on the podium. Kendra Claricia Brinkop from Germany had the fastest time of the day on ‘Ma Belle’ with the French rider Alix Ragot taking the second top spot on ‘Diaz de Ush’. In second were Valentin Besnard, who really had an excellent day, this time riding ‘Diamantina Beaufour’ and Adam Prudent from the USA with ‘Labalou’. In third were Julie Welles (USA) with ‘Dyneine de Lilau’ Konstantin E. Van Damme (BUL) with ‘Hanne Umonia’.
Julie Welles was also our winner in the Medium Tour 1.40 class, with a regular on the podium here at the Tour, the lovely ‘Greatfull’. In second was Peter Szuhai (HUN) with ‘Chacco’s Girlstar’ and once again Olivier Perreau, this time with ‘Flore des Cabanes’.
The Moroccan rider Farid Amanzar with ‘Julio Van de Veldbalie’ was the winner in the Medium Tour 1.30; Irish rider, Harry Allen was second on ‘Carrera Denfer’ and in third once again Olivier Perreau, with ’Dream Boy D’Aiguilly’.
In the 8yr old class the winner was Alix Ragot with ‘Feline Du Figuier’, second was Kendra Claricia Brink with ‘I’m Fancy VDM Z’ and in third was, Kevin Gonzalez de Zarate with ‘Kristal’s Beauty B’.
In the other Young horse classes the winners were Dutch rider, Aniek Diks with ‘Qointreau Van’t Hoogeinde’, Brazilian rider, Katty King with ‘Ronermus Van Het Weyenshof’ and local Spanish rider, Alejandro Fernández Sánchez with ‘Sting V H Ruytinxbos’; in the 7, 6 and 5yr old classes respectively.
Tomorrow there are 13 classes including two FEI Longines Ranking classes.
