Guy Williams with ‘Ernie Of Greenhill Z’, win the Catunambú Trophy

Yuri Mansur and ‘Fleur D’Oz’, were second with Alessandra Reich and ‘Anyway Van Het Kervijnhof Z’ taking third

In a time of 63.28s, the well known British rider,  Guy Williams and the 12yr old stalllion ‘Ernie of Greenhill Z’, who is by ‘Emerald’, dam sire, ’Caretino’, were the winners of the 1.45m,  Catunambú Trophy Ranking class in the Milton arena.  With the fastest clear round of the day, on a course with many challenges, this talented pair beat off a field of over 60 other horses. 

 

Close on Guy’s heels was another top rider, Brazilian, Yuri Mansur with ‘Fleur D’Oz’, who were also second yesterday in the 1.40 class. Third was Alessandra Reich with ‘Anyway Ven Het Kervijnhof Z’;  fourth was German, Enno Klaphake with ‘NC Verso Red Wine’  and, in fifth, was Venezuelan, Gustavo Arroyo with ‘G&C Virko Minotais’.

 

Irish, Coen Williams with  ‘J.Diago’ are continue in the rosettes, winning today’s 1.40 class and they were over a second faster than British,  Tabitha Kyle with ‘Jumanji’ who were second.  Taking both third and fourth places was Laura Hetzel,  actually repeating her double placing in yesterday’s 1.35,  but today she was third with ‘Athena’ and fourth with ‘Oak Grove’s Darshana’.  In fifth was Belgian, Nikita Van Der Meerschen with ‘Honesty Chavannaise’.

 

Laura Mantel was the British winner of the 1.35 class with ‘NPS Jaliska’,  with Yuri Mansur taking another second place, this time on  ‘Cerafina’  and he also took fifth place with ‘Glinka de al Treille’.  Third was British, Elliot John Rowe with ‘Hyperion VP Wisbecq’  and fourth  Irish, Jonathan Smyth with ‘Mr Kannan Ball’.

 

There was a British win in the 1.30 from Stephen Lohoar with ‘Kameron LSH’;  Spanish rider,  Pilar Cordón Muro was second with ‘Seawillow’ and another Spanish rider took third, Salvador Astolfi with ‘Grupo Prom Jivaro’.  Two British riders closed the podium with Daisy McKinlay and ‘Donder Slage’ in fourth, and Charlie Atkinson with ‘Silver Strykka’ in fifth.

 

Moroccan, María Mernissi with ‘Qloony Denfer’ was the winner of the 1.20.  British riders took the next two places, Amelia Gardiner with ‘OCS Double Vision’ and Morten Dahl with ‘Hello M’Lord’.  Belgian, Juliette Berghmans with ‘Artichaut de Lolif’ was fourth,  and fifth was Kuwaiti,  Rawan Alsaraf with ‘Enjoy de Tus’.

 

In the Young Horse classes:  the 7yr olds was won by German, Helmut Schönstetter with ‘Elektric Explosion’.  Yuri Mansur was second with ‘Helma Mouche’  and Coen Williams was third, with ‘Dominante Z’. The winner of the 5yr olds was Portuguese, Norbert Ell with ‘My Way’ and second and third were the British riders, Karl Robins with ‘Olivia Ella’ and Stephen Lohoar with ‘Odyssey LSH’.  The 6yr olds did not jump today.

 

The first day of the National Pony Championships with around 40 participants started up today and tomorrow we continue with eight classes in the 2*, the Young Horse classes and the Pony Championships here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour.  The event  is kindly sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalucía, through Tourism and Sports of Andalucía.
