‘Hermes de L’O’ and Kevin González de Zárate win the Final of the 7yr olds

Hermes de L’O’ flew around the jump off in the 7yr old Final today and secured a solid win over the demanding 1.40 course.  His rider was Spanish, Kevin González de Zárate and together they beat off the other 21 competitors that got through to the jump off.  Their time was just 42.18s the only pair under 43s, a brilliant result from these two, who have clocked up five clears from their six outings in this class, with two of these being top ten results.

‘Hermes de L’O’ is by ‘Qlassic Bois Margot’; dam, ‘Sahara de Soleil’; dam sire, ‘Quidam de Revel’ and owned by ‘Cada paso desde 0, S.’ He has been ridden by Kevin since last May.

Kevin was very excited and happy after the class. “He is a very special horse for me. When I walked the course I saw it was slightly complicated and a more demanding course than in previous days, but I trust my horse a lot and everything has gone as we expected.  “It is a great joy for me, for my team, for the owners… Without them, none of this would be possible and I want to thank them for their support. It was a very demanding jump-off, but we tried hard and managed to beat some really great horses that were in the class”

In second was ‘Hair Jordan Delacense’ who is by the fabulous stallion, ’Cornet Obolensky’, dam sire, ‘Zandor’ and owned by Milestone Farm and Bvba Maupiler Stables.  ‘Hair Jordan Delacense’ was ridden by the French rider, Robinson Maupiler and stopped the clock in 43.16s.

There was also a French ridden horse in third, ’Serafina DBH Z’ (`Stakkato Gold’ x ‘G.Ramiro Z’) with Alix Ragot.  Fourth was ‘Clayton Z’ (‘Cicero Z’) with British, Matthew Sampson and fifth was ‘Cucinelli Pommex Z’, a stallion also by ‘Cornet Obolensky’ x ‘Darco’ and owned by Stephex Stables, ridden by the American Michael Hughes.

The winner of the 1.30, 6yr old Final was ‘Maceo du Chapitre’, who was ridden by Irish, Alexander Butler.  Alexander told us that the lovely chestnut gelding, ’Maceo du Chapitre’;  who  is by ‘Hortaxe Du Seigneur’ x ‘Ogano Sitte’;  was bought as a four year old by Carlos Pinto and Ludo (Philippaerts), he is owned by Philippaerts We Live Horses BV.  “He has relatively not so much experience, but last year all he did was training shows and national shows with a guy that was riding for us Liam Deery.  So he just played at loads of shows there and we had sort of planned at the end of the year that we would bring him to Spain as his first international show and he has really stepped up, I don’t think he has knocked a jump for the last three weeks”.

“To win it maybe is a little bit of a shock cause he’s never gone against the clock before, but definitely I went faster than what I would have maybe originally planned, but he warmed up very good and I said “I’ll take the chance and see how he is””.  Alexander told us that ‘Maceo du Chapitre’ has finished for now, as have all the young horses they have brought here to The Tour, and that they will now go home and have a break. “He is only six…. he’s already, come from a little bit behind to well up with speed, now at the minute so there’s no rush, we will make another plan later on in the summer with him, he’s very straightforward and easy, so its not like he needs many shows in him”. 

In second was ‘Nabadu H’, who is by‘Berlin’ x ‘Böckmann’s Lord Pezi’ and was ridden by German,  Maximilian Lill.  Third was  ‘Sempre Van de Berghoeve DUP’, who is by ‘Bamako de Muze’, ridden by Spanish, Carlos Bosch.  Fourth was, ’Dolita’ (‘Diacontinus’ x ‘Coronas 2’ ridden by Irish, Bertram Allen and fifth, ‘Ines Mouche’ ridden by Spanish, Pello Elorduy Ibarzábal.

The five year old winner was ‘Lucky Madam’, a mare by ‘Del’Arko D’Henvet’ who was steered to victory by British, Laura Mantel. Laura was really delighted with the win telling us:  “She was really good, really, really good. I have only been riding her for three weeks, since the beginning of this Tour. She tried so hard for me, she was very good.  I thought it (the course) was strong enough, she felt a little bit tired but she tried really hard for me. The owner takes her home from here this week I think, then we wait and see to be honest.

Second was ‘Odyseey LSH’ (‘Cornado II Z’ x ‘Kannan’), owned and ridden by British, Stephen Lohoar.  Third was ‘O-Olanda Van Heechhiem’ with Italian, Giorgia De Lorenzi. Fourth was ‘Troy Z’ (`Tangelo VD Zuuthoeve’ x ‘Nabab de Reve’) with British, Max Routledge and in fifth was ‘Billy Trix’ (‘Conthargos’ x ‘Animo’) withFrench, Gaspard Maksud.
