‘Hiron d’Elle’ and Alexander Zetterman have a commanding win in the 8yr old class

Hugo Álvarez Amaro doubles up, with a win in the 6yr olds with ‘Juno de Llamosas’ and the 5yr olds with ‘Caloua Quick PS’

‘Hiron d’Elle’ is a very fast chestnut mare by ‘Urano de Cartigny’, dam sire ‘Nippon d’Elle’, ridden by Swedish, Alexander Zetterman and today they flew around the 1.40, 8yr old class against the clock, held on grass, to take a commanding win in just 61.23s, over four seconds in front of the second placed horse, the stallion ‘Haddock du Tertre’ (‘Nervoso’ x ‘Putch de Isles*Val’ID’’), who stopped the clock in 65.43s with French rider, Faustine Laferrerie. In third was ‘Cas de Fleur D Z’ with Belgian, Andres Vereecke, fourth was ‘Serafina Dbh Z’ with French rider, Alix Ragot and in fifth was ‘Gwendolyn’ with German rider, Helmut Schönstetter.

 

There were two seven year old classes today set at 1.30m and both in the Milton arena. In the first class the winner was the very successful German rider, Kendra Brinkop with ‘Sniper Des Lilas Blancs’ (‘Hamilton du Chapitre’ x ‘Calvaro Z’) and Kendra also took third place with ‘Abercrombie Pommex Z’ (‘Asca Z’ x ‘Emerald Van’t Ruytershof’), both of these horses being from Stephex Stables.

In second was British, Chloe Reynolds with ‘PDV Constanza’, who is by ‘Cornet Obolensky’. Fourth was another British rider who has been consistently in the top results here, Alfie Bradstock and who was riding ‘Arizona Ospa Z’. In fifth was Belgian rider, Thibault Vermeulen with ‘Fahidi D’Elsendam Z’. 

 

In the second class the winner was the gelding ‘Nazaire VD Watermolen’ ridden by Norwegian, Victoria Gulliksen; second was ‘Capellini D’SG’, (‘Comilfo Plus Z’ x ‘Osmium’) with the Dutch rider, Roosje Brouwer; in third and fourth were ‘De Luxe de Plaisir’ (‘Diamant de Plaisir’ x ‘Contract’) and ‘Cardi MT’ (‘Conthargos’ x ‘Christian 25’), both ridden by Helmut Schönstetter and in fifth was ‘Cacota’, with Moroccan, Mohammed Azoum.

 

There was a Spanish win in the first 6yr old class, a 1.20 2PhSp, from Hugo Álvarez Amaro with ‘Juno de Llamosas’, and he also took top spot in one of the 5yr old classes with ‘Caloua Quick PS’ and fourth with ‘Thunderbird Van de Derkes LP’.

Second, third and fifth places in this 6yr old class were taken by Belgian riders, ‘El Bandito BPH Z’ was second with Dries Dekkers; ‘Tapis – Plain Van de Lentamel’ was third with Ignace Philips de Vuyst and fifth, was ‘Label Fee de Septon Z’ with Thibault Vermeulen.

 

In the other 6yr old class, the stallion ‘Chasalino PS’ by ‘Chacoon Blue’ x ‘Sandro Boy’ had his second win this week with Chloe Reynolds. Second was ‘Chinra Imperio Egipcio’ with Portuguese, Adir Días de Abreu; third was ‘Tita Tattoo D’Hoge Rielen’ with  Belgian, Dimme D’Haese, both continuing their top results so far this week. ‘Billy Apollo’ with another Belgian rider, Jordy van Massenhove was fourth and ‘Danubios’ with Italian, Francesco Correddu took fifth.

 

The 5yr olds jumped 1.10 in two 2Ph Sp classes today. Behind the winners, Hugo Álvarez and ‘Caloua Quick PS’ were two more Spanish combinations. ‘Quality de Toxandría Z’ with Armando Trapote Mariscal taking second, and ‘Kan de Llamosas’ with Fidel Dávila García in third. Once again Alfie Bradstock was in the rosettes, this time with ‘Primera B’ in fourth and in fifth was another Spaniard, Sebastia Mateu Jurado with ‘Argentino Doble Z’.

 

In the other class the winner was ‘Power of Love’ with Dutch rider, Sophia Loojenga. In second was the Spanish combination, ‘Tarmitage de Folch’ with Jesús Folch Redondo; Third was ‘Dark-Love LJ Z’ with Belgian, Dominique Joassin; ‘Kill Bill de Circee’ was fourth with Bulgarian, Konstantine Van Damme and Spanish rider, Álvaro González de Zárate took fifth with ‘Proyect EL’.

 

Tomorrow is the busiest jumping day of the week with thirteen classes taking place, here at the XXXI Andalucía Sunshine Tour, which is sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and by the Diputación Provincial de Cádiz.  The Young Horses will jump for the last time this week and we begin the first CSI4*, just one of the six that will take place.
