Holly Smith and ‘Fruselli’ fly around the Clip My Horse.TV. GP, winning by over 1 second

It’s Holly’s second win here with her long time partner, as she also topped the podium in the Vejer Trophy on Thursday

Top British rider, Holly Smith and her great stallion, ‘Fruselli’, flew round the Clip My Horse.TV Grand Prix; seventh to go in a 12 horse jump off;  going into, and keeping the lead, by knocking over a second off of the then leader’s time, finishing in just 34.68s.  This is their second win in this CSI2*, as they also were top of the podium in the Vejer Trophy on Thursday.  ‘Fruselli’, is now 14yrs old and no stranger to Montenmedio, he is by ‘Zambesi TN’ x ‘Karandasj’, and is just coming back up to top fitness.  Holly told us she wanted to start him off gently in the 2* and then move on up the classes over the next two weeks here at the Tour.  She is also hoping to stay for the last week but can’t confirm that yet.  Holly also has two 6yr olds with her that she thinks very highly of, and will be developing slowly in the Young Horse classes.

In second was Brazilian, Joao Víctor Castro with ‘Babacool’ (‘Tlaloc M’ x ‘Urbain Du Monnai’) and in third was French rider, Marie Demonte with ‘Epona Du Quesnoy’ (‘Ogrion Des Champs*HN’ x ‘Nabab de Reve’).  Fourth was Venezuelan, Gustavo Arroyo with ‘G&C Virko Minotais’ (‘Chacco-Blue’ x ‘Gentleman Platier’) and in fifth was another French rider, Marie Pellegrin with ‘Floc’ (‘Qlassic Bois Margot’ x ‘Ultimo Van ter Moude’).  This Ranking class was set at 1.45 and held in the Milton arena.  The course was designed by British, Rafael Suarez.

There was a Spanish top two in the 1.40 class from Elena Appendino and ‘Iceman’, who stopped the clock in 57.85s and Pablo Santiago Artime who was exactly two seconds slower, with ‘Chiquita D’Aiguilly’.  British, Robert Murphy with ‘Tender Guy Z’ was third,  followed by Belgian, Nikita Van Der Meerschen with ‘Honesty Chavannaise’ and American rider, Andrea Van Scheltinga with ‘Hamlet’.

Summer Tanner (GBR) won the 1.35 with ‘Billy Colman’.  The next three places went to Irish riders;  Sean Monaghan with ‘Coldplay I’;  Brian Cassidy with ‘Guminka’ and Jonathan Smyth with ‘Mr Kannan Ball’.  In fifth was Austrian, Alessandra Reich riding ‘Copyright Cicero Z’.

There was another British win in the 1.30 from Stephen Lohoar with ‘Kameron LSH’.  Second was Indian rider, Abbas Khan con ‘Kaydine B’; third, Spanish, Olivia Álvarez García with ‘Gazquine TAG’.  Taking both fourth and fifth was Belgian, Charlotte Berghmans, with ‘Helaiza’ and ‘Junkie De Longchamps’.

Chloe Mae Morris continued the British domination of the top of the podium today, winning the 1.25 with ‘Balloon Cruise’.  Second was Austrian, Carla Wanko with ‘Macintosh’;  third, another British rider, Sarah Lewis with ‘Billy Arietta’;  fourth Finnish rider, Christelle Littunen with ‘Concera Blue PS’ and finally in fifth, was the Spanish rider, Manuel Román Álvarez with ‘Chacco’s Magic’.

The1.10 had a German top two from, Charlotte and Juliette Berghmans, Charlotte took first with ‘Couleur Chianti’ and Juliette second with ‘D Day De Lison Z’.  Spanish, Zahira Cargiolli Botero was third with ‘Olina Van de Looise Heide’; fourth was Irish, Caroline Gaston with ‘Miss Roman Kora’ and in fifth was the French rider, Ayoub Lkhal with ‘Nirvana Optima’.

In the Young Horse classes; German, Helmot Schönstetter was once again on top of the podium in the 7yr olds with ‘Gwendolyn’ and he was also fifth with ‘EIC Stepstone’.   ’Helma Mouche’ was second with top Brazilian rider, Yuri Mansur; ‘Millfield Lottery’ was third with British, Emily Ward and, ‘Hoover de Hus’ was fourth with Belgian, Laurens Houben.

Tabitha Kyle was the winner of the 6yr olds with ‘Sing Z’ and her British compatriots ,  Ben Walker with ‘Billy Tamrac’ and Emily Ward with ‘Witchella HF’ took the next two places.  Fourth was German rider, Enno Klaphake with ‘Casallier’ and fifth, Yuri Mansur with ‘Gitano VD Dassenheide Z’.

These are the main results from the Andalucía Sunshine Tour today, which is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalucía, through Tourism and Sports of Andalucía.  On Tuesday we move on to the next three week block of intense competition here at Montemedio, with many of the best riders in the world in attendance, all competing here at the biggest installations in Europe.  Each Sunday the Grand Prix class will be a qualifier for both the Paris 2024 Olympics and the 2025, Europeans.
