Vejer, 24th of October 2025. Today was the much anticipated Nations cup CSIO 3* which is sponsored by Kar Sports Horses. There were 17 teams participating and the event was hotly contested. In the end Ireland, who led the first round with just 2 time faults, went on to win on 6 faults with no need for their final rider to jump. The team was made up of Susan Fitzpatrick with Lovely Stassi PS, Niamh McEvoy with Olympic 'gl' 'fvd', Max Wachman with Tipperary and Ethen Ahearne with LVS Goldrush H.
Brasil took second place moving up from 5th in the first round with three clears counting in the second round; in the end they finished on just eight faults overall. The team was made up of Eduardo Pereira de Menezes with H5 Londontime, Pedro Junqueira Muylaert with Gemme Villers, Felipe Amaral with Qerbi Vant Ruytershof and Pedro Veniss with Duelante 3K.
Third place went to Germany who dropped down from provisional second after a good first round with 5 faults and in the end finished on 13 faults, one of three teams to do so, but with the fastest overall times. The team members were Jana Wargers with Eddie G Z, Jens Baackmann with Lorenz 86, Stephanie Böhe with DSP Lyjin P and Maximilian Lill with Casallco's George PS.
Fourth were Spain and fifth were France, both also on a sum of 13 points. The Spanish team was made up of Álvaro González de Zarate Fernández with Casa Diva PS, Carlos Bosch Cebrián with Jolie van der Berghoeve KAR, Jesús Bamonde with Agr Trouble Maker and Armando Trapote with Caept'n Hook. The French team members were Forban de Beliard ridden by Marie Demonte, Djinn Cece ridden by Arthur Le Vot, Fbi d’Ellipse with Robin Lesqueren and Olivier Robert with Ganache de Riverland.
The prize giving included a ceremony for the winners of the Marta Santos Casamichana Award, from KAR Sport Horses, the sponsors of this Nations Cup round; this is a tribute to Marta Santos, who sadly passed away in an accident this year. The winners of the award were Francisca Gomes and Luis Secio.
In the 1.40 2PhSp, CSIO3*, the winner was Carlos Bosh Cebrián with O’Balou van de Plataan KAR, owned by KAR Sport Horses, with a time of 31.25s. Second was Anastasia Nielsen with Stakkido Pan (Monaco) in 31.71s and in third was Odile Gierech with Kiss-Me v/h BHH, (Luxenberg) in 32.47s.
In the Longines Ranking class, 1.45 (FT), the winner was Irish rider Francis Derwin with Parvati AEG in 62.85s . This pair were comfortably faster than the German rider, Tom Schewe with Lester who finished in 64s dead. Hot on Tom’s heels, and in third was Felipe Amaral with Empress de Paumalice in 64.10.
In the 1.40, 2PhSp CSI2* Niamh McEvoy was on top of the podium again, this time with Miro NS, stopping the clock in the second phase in just 26.85s. Second was Spanish rider, Elena Appendino with Grupo Prom Hacienda, in 28.82s and in third, was Jordanian rider, Ibrahim Hani Bisharat with El Nino Bull's Eye Z in 30.18s.
In the 1.30, the winner was Spanish rider, Hugo Álvarez Amaro with Ibiza d’Anchat KAR, in 26.42s in this 2PhSp. Second was American rider, Campbell Brown with Luca van’t Eigenlo, in 27.04s and third was another Spanish rider, Agustí Sastre Caballero North Star SS, in 27.23s.
In the 1.20 the top three places were taken by Spanish riders, Javier González Fraga with Cholita JGF in 61.79; Oliver Glenn Lange Fraile with Mega Coupe in 65.54s and third was Salvador Cámara Martín with Brahms de Lavaure in 65.92.
In the 1.10 the winner was British rider, Cassandra Cope with Hamlets Fire, in 59.16s followed by Swedish rider, Evelina Lindmark, in 65.39s with Lillebergs Mamacita. In third was Celine Candela (LBN) with Ibab van de Zijpe.
The 5yr old Young Horse class was won by Borriane FFA Z (Bamako de Muze x Corrado I) and ridden by Line Wartenberg Wollesen from Denmark. They stopped the clock in this 1.20, 2PhSp in just 28.48s. Second was Dominatrix Diva Z (by Dominator 2000 Z) ridden by Spanish, Agustí Sastre Caballero in 29.50s. Third was Crazy Blue Z (Cumano x Chacco Blue) ridden by Sonia Hungerbuhler.
The 1.35 7yr old class was a speed class and the winner was Emeralds F1, with local rider, Jesús Torres García, this is their second win here and so far they haven’t touched a pole. Today they stopped the clock in just 56.70s. In second was Idole de Hus who is ridden by Italian, Luca María Moneta in 60.69s and in third was Iglou de Beugner, with another Spanish rider, Eduardo Blanco in 63.03s.
Jumping continues tomorrow here at Montenmedio with two FEI Longines Ranking classes, one being the CSI2* Grand Prix, event that is sponsored the Andalusian Regional Government's Ministry of Tourism and Andalusian Foreign Affairs and the Provincial Council of Cádiz.
