‘Isandra SC’ with Manuel Fernández Saro are today’s winners of the 8yr old class

The Spanish rider, caps off his day, also taking third with ‘Caliga Blue PS’

It was a great start to the week for top Spanish rider, Manuel Fernández Saro and two of his lovely eight year olds.  He won the 1.40, 2Ph Sp 8yr old,  in the Hickstead arena with the mare, ’Isandra SC’, who is by ‘Sandro Boy’ x ‘Con Air 7’ in 28.62s and was also third with another mare, ’Caliga Blue PS’ (`Caligula’ x ‘Chacco-Blue’) in 29.11s.

 

Sliding in between, taking second ,was another Spanish rider, also with a mare,‘Geisha Batilly’, who is by ‘Qlassic Bois Margot’ x ‘Numero Uno’; with the Spanish rider, Fernando de los Santos and this pair stopped the clock in 29.05s.  In fourth was Brazilian, Felipe Amaral with ‘Gesse de Baerenrain’ and in fifth was Austrian rider, Alessandra Reich with ‘Galadermie PP Z’.

 

The 7yr olds was also on grass and the first class was won by the stallion ‘Dadi-Cellis’ who is by ‘Diamant de Plaisir’ and ridden by Polish, Marek Lewicki.  The podium was completed by:  Flo Jo 4’,  ridden by German, Leonie Böckmann;  ‘Comme Ci Comme Ca’ with Dutch, Micky Morssinkhof;  ‘BWE Vain Hero’ with Irish rider, Shane O’Reilly and ‘Machiavelli B’ with Spanish rider, Ángel Cerdido Calderón.

 

In the second 7yr old class the winner was the gelding ‘Tiberio della Caccia’ (‘Otangelo’ x ‘Cannavaros’) ridden by Irish, Sean Monaghan;  second was ‘Nairobi’ ridden by Portuguese, Goncalo Esteves;  ‘Aliki Z was third with American rider,  Molly Hay.  Goncalo  was also fourth, with ‘Maradette S’ and finally, in fifth, was ‘Carrera Crystal’ ridden by the Belgian, Laurens Houben.

 

The top three in the first 6yr old class all had British riders.  First was ‘Diagolda PS’ (‘Diaron’ x ‘Kannan’) ridden by Nicole Lockhead Anderson;  second was ‘Sing Z’ and Tabitha Kyleand and, in third, was ‘Bozooka’ with Emma Stoker  Two German ridden horses finished off the top five,  ‘Full of Fire’ with Leonie Böckmann and ‘Oki Doki 15’ with Enno Klaphake

 

In the second class the winner was, ’Ici Dumontdordeblonde’ (‘Bentley VD Heffinck’ x ‘Kanshebber’) ridden by Spanish,  Joel Valles Rossell.  The very consistent  ‘Witchella HF’ with British, Emily Ward was second;  ‘Casallier’ was third, ridden by Enno Klaphake;  ‘MHB Magnum Splendor’was fourth with Irish rider, Jonathan Smyth and finally  ‘Napoleon’ ridden by British, Arianna Kuligowski was fifth.

 

The 5yr olds had FnoT classes today,  with 48 horses jumping clear in the two classes Adding to their qualifying tally for the Sunshine Tour Series – Young Horse Finals.

 

 

These are today’s main results on our first day back in the penultimate week of the Andalucía Sunshine Tour,  sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalucía, through Tourism and Sports of Andalucía.
