Javier Guillén Callejas and ‘Resuelto AS’, are the Spanish Young Rider Dressage Champions

Hugo Melida and ‘Goya A’, are champions in Junior 1*; Maite Cavaliere and ‘Future Project’ win the Juniors and Alfonso Roig Bonilla with ‘Strandgaards Dole’ win the Infants

The Aragonese rider Javier Guillén Callejas, riding his 13yr old bay stallion  'Resuelto AS', by 'Barquero XXVI’, owned by Gonzalo Guillén Pueyo, took gold in the Spanish Young Riders Dressage Championship today, after brilliant performances in both qualifying events and an impressive Kür, where they scored 72.14%. Their Championship total was 215.258 points, with an eight point lead over their closest competitor.

 

In silver was the Basque rider, Nile Urrutia López with 'Viriathus Van GC' after finishing third in today’s Kür; and in bronze place, was Andalucían rider, María Araceli Martín Rivera with 'Ladiva' thanks to a superb performance today, where she took second place with a top Kür test that gave her 71.075%.

Hugo Melida Gómez from Castilla y León riding 'Goya A' were proclaimed the Spanish Junior 1* Dressage Champions after winning both of the qualifying events and also their Kür today in which they had a clear lead, with a final test score of 74.72% and a Championship total of 216.648 points.

 

In this section the silver went to the Madrid rider, Álvaro López Rey with ‘Crumel’ despite a slightly disappointing result in the Kür, of fourth place, their consistently high scores throughout the rounds maintained their overall Championship scores of over 70%.

 

Adriana Sofía Navarro Sánchez from Murcia climbed several positions today thanks to a brilliant Kür performance where she came second, with a score of 71.88 points, and moving her into Bronze in the overall Championship ranking.

 

The Catalan rider María Muñoz Cruset with 'Don Lovely Defrance' Aldo rode a top class Kür and took third place.

The Basque rider Maite Cavaliere Di Penta, riding 'Future Project', became the Spanish Junior 0* Dressage Champion with a cumulative sum of 214.321 points. This was a good margin ahead of the Andalucían, Curro Ramírez Morales, who, riding 'Mon Amie', had a score of 205.502 points and took silver. Both riders put in outstanding performances in today's final test; Curro won the class with 69.308%, just slightly above Maite's score of 69.192%.

 

The Andalucían rider Flavia Molina Domecq, with 'Ambar de Tirri', climbed onto the bronze position on podium in both today’s class and the Championships, thanks to her high mark of 68.885%.

Valencian rider, Alfonso Roig Bonilla with Strandgaards Doleys took gold in the Infants  Championship with a good solid performance across all rounds and where they especially excelled in the second qualifier. Their Championship total was 218.046 points.

 

Silver went to the Catalan rider, Mar Pena Ríos with ‘Brandour BCN’, who were also second in today’s final class with 73.44% and had a Championship total of 213.741 points. Manuel Crespo de Arriba, riding 'Grato,' from Castilla and Leon also climbed several positions in the overall standings thanks to his mark of 71.112% today, and ended up in bronze place in the overall Championship.

 

In third in today’s class, was the rider from Aragon, Saúl Navascues Ruíz who had a super test with ‘Hilbert Fan B Elisabeth Hoeve’, with 73.144%.

 

 

National Carriage Driving Competition CAN**

The Marathon of the 2* National Carriage Driving Competition was held today. This event is a part of the 5th Andalucía October Tour.  Carlos Castiñeira was the winner in the singles category; Francisco Galán in the pairs category; and Edouart Simonet in the fours category.

 

The final overall competition results were : Ana Muñoz took the win in the singles with 138 points across the three disciplines; dressage, cones, and marathon. Carlos Castiñeira was second with 145, and Marcelo Torrecillas was third with 178.

 

Francisco Galán won the pairs, with Tamara Listán finishing second.

 

Edouart Simonet was the winner of the fours with Antonio Carrillo in second and Antonio Montes in third.

 

This concludes an intense weekend of competition, which will resume next Thursday with the start of the Spanish Junior Show Jumping Championships.
