‘Kilnaboy Captain’ ridden by Konstantin Van Damme and ‘Bella E Impossibile BBA’ ridden by Babani

Nearly 600 Young Horses took to the rings today in the second week of the Andalucía Sunshine Tour

The second week here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour started off with bright sunshine for the Young Horses to take to the arenas.  590 horses jumped today across the age groups and both the 6 and 7yr olds jumped on grass, the 6yr olds in the 2 newest and beautifully manicured grass arenas; Arrayán and Carola. 

 

The 7yr old class was a 2Phase Sp set at 1.30m and held in the Guaraná Champeix arena in two sections, across which 181 horses competed.  In the first section; Konstantin Van Damme from Bulgaria, who is starting to be regular name in the results here, rode a winning round with ‘Kilnaboy Captain’ (Nameless R x Dam Sire, Chin Chin).  Their time in the second phase was just 22.17s.  In the other section Austrian rider, Bianca Babanitz steered ‘Bella E Impossible BBA’ to victory in 23.64s.  This lovely mare is by Lavagon, D.S, Lando. 

 

Second in section A and B respectively;  were ‘Pompon Van de Koekoek’ (Nabab de Reve, D.S. also Chin Chin) with Ignace Philips de Vuyst for Belgium and ‘Cidfire EN’ (Corporal VDL, D.S. Zeppelin) ridden by the Swedish rider Jacob Hellström.

 

In third respt;  were ‘Diva Z’ and the Danish rider Martin Dinesen Neergaard and ‘Korlenski’ ridden by Elliott John Rowe from Great Britain.

‘Kingston’ ridden by Norwegian rider Cecilie Hatteland was fourth in one section and in the other it was ‘Domino Van Het Gehucht Z’ ridden by Sean Monaghan from Ireland. In fifth places were ‘Centopia,’ with Argentina rider Ezequiel Ferro Menéndez and ‘Feline de B’Neville’, ridden by the Portuguese Adir Dias de Abreu con ‘Feline de B’Neville’.  104 horses jumped clear adding to their sum to qualify for the Finals. 

 

The 6yr old Young Horses was the biggest section today with the class being run simultaneously in two of the grass arenas.  252 horses jumped today with 159 going clear. 

 

157 horses jumped in the 5yr old class and 77 went clear.

 

Competition continues tomorrow with the Young Horses.  Thursday the adult horses also jump and start up the second week of the CSI4* here at Montenmedio.
