‘Mecoblue PS’ and Nicole Lockhead Anderson winners of the 8yr old class

Alix Ragot with ‘Serafina DBH Z’ and Niamh McEvoy with ‘BP Tiny Dancer’ are the winners in the 7yr olds

There was a British win in the 8yr olds today, which was the inaugurating class in the new, ‘All In’ grass arena, number 16 here at Montenmedio.  The class was set at 1.40m and was a speed class. Our winner was ‘Mecoblue PS’, by ‘Messenger’ x ‘Chacco-Blue’,  and his rider was Nicole Lockhead Anderson. They were well ahead of the rest of the field of 87 competitors, and stopped the clock in 63.50s. In second place was the Moroccan pair, ‘Girocco de Jarsay’ and Youssef Salmeron and in third was ‘Quercus Van Den Oude EIK’ with German rider, Kendra Claricia Brinkop. 39 horses went clear adding to their tally towards qualification for the Finals.

 

The first 7yr old class, held in the Milton arena,  was won by the French combination of Alix Ragot with ‘Serafina DBH Z’ (‘Stakkato Gold’ x ‘G. Ramiro Z’) coming top of this 92 horse class, where 53 went clear. Second and third places were taken by Irish riders, Ivan Dalton with ‘Philly Fogarty’ and Bertram Allen with ‘Huricane De Champloue’. The Irish have a plethora of lovely seven year olds here with Niamh McEvoy riding ‘BP Tiny Dancer’ (‘Plot Blue’ x ‘Concorde’) into first place in the second class. Ignace Philips de Vuyst from Belgium showed his top form, taking both second and third places with ‘Mirafiori Di Ca’San Giorgio’ and  ‘Orlando’.

 

The winner in the first 6yr old class was Swedish rider Sofía Westborg with ‘Agalove AB Z’ (‘Aganix du Seigneur Z’ x ‘Indoctro’); Second was Austrian Christian Rhomberg with ‘Kiki’ and third, Irish, Shane Dwan with ‘California 159’. In the second class, there were two sections; the winners were French, Gaspard Maksud who had the fastest time with ‘Ihaveadream Deluca’; and Italian Stefano Nogara with ‘Sexy Girl Vant Gebergte’. Second was Shane Dwan this time with  ‘IJump’ and Dries Dekkers from Belgium with ‘A Classic Azzaro Z’. The classes were 2Ph Sp at 1.20m in arena 8, Baloubet Du Rouet.

 

Cassandre Malherbe, dominated the first 5yr old class, taking the top two places with  ‘Like A G6 MKM Z’ and ‘Lou Van Het Eikenhof Z’. A super result continuing this Belgian riders success in the Pre Tour. Third was British combination, Jude Burgess with ‘Ophelia’. In the second 5yr old class the winner was Dutch, ‘Foreplay Waldstar Z’ (‘For Pleasure’ x ‘Mr Blue’) ridden by Sanne de Jong. In second was German, Jan-Oliver Tödtmann with ‘Zircon Blue’ and Dries Dekkers and ‘El Bandito BPH Z’.

 

 

Tomorrow the Young Horses have their last day this week and the first CSI4* of six in total, begins here at the .XXX Andalucía Sunshine Tour, sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Government of Andalucía, through Tourism and Sports of Andalucía. Seven arenas will run concurrently in a really busy day of jumping.
