New win for Kevin Gielen and ‘Luna Van De Zeilhoek’ in the 7yr olds

Vince Jarmy wins the other 7yr old class with ‘For Lexcis Z’

Kevin Gielen is having a great week here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, which is kindly sponsored by the ‘Consejería de Turismo, Cultura y Deporte’ and co-financed by the European Union.  Recently arrived here this  week, the Belgian rider has already won both classes in his 7yr old section with the lovely mare, ‘Luna Van De Zeilhoek’, who is by ‘Dior Van Berkenbroeck’ x ‘Nabab de Reve’ and owned by Eveline Van Gruisen.

 

In second place in this class was the very successful Bulgarian rider, Konstantine E. Van Damme, who was one of our winners yesterday with ‘Charly Brown G’. Third was the Austrian rider, Alessandra Reich with ‘Galadermie PP Z’; fourth, Irish rider, Jonathan Smyth with ‘Mulvin Springball’ and fifth another familiar name in the results, German rider, Kendra Brinkop with ‘Quercus Van Den Oude Eik’.

 

In the other 7yr old class there was a win for the Hungarian rider, Vince Jarmy with the beautifully bred, ‘For Lexcis Z’, who is by ‘For Pleasure’. The 7yr old classes were FT today and this pair stopped the clock in 67.58s, the fastest clear of the day across the board. Second was British rider, Nicole Lockhead Anderson with ‘Vivant’s Penny PS’; third, Italian Luca Moneta with ‘Guchi Montdesir’; fourth another British rider, Jude Burgess with ‘Tina HP’ and fifth, German rider, Sophie Hinners with ‘Twick Star’.

 

In the first 6yr old class there was a British win from Rebecca Middleton with ‘Leta LVP’, a mare owned by one of our sponsors, Equine América UK LTD. Second was Irish rider,  Shane O’Reilly with ‘BWE Vain Hero’; third, German rider Geraldine Lüthje with ‘Quick Lady 22’; fourth, British Will Edwards with ‘Carrickview Apollo’ and in fifth the Polish rider, Maksymilian Wechta with ‘Next One’.

 

In the second class the Brazilian rider, Katty King seems to be unstoppable as she was once again on top of the podium with ‘Ronermus Van Het Weyenshof’. British rider,  Emma Stoker excelled herself riding her two horses into second and third place. ‘Priskada’ and ‘Comme Ci, Comme Ca’. Swedish rider, Antonia Andersson was once again in the top four, today one place down in fourth, with ‘Zoe Heart’ and in fifth was another British rider, William Fletcher with ‘Monthelie-O’.

 

Both winers in the 5yr old classes were British. Ronnie Jones with ‘Skylla’s Little Stevie’ had the fastest time of the day in this 2PhSp class. They won the first class in just  21.36s. Second was Portuguese rider, Nuno Martins with ‘Orion de Nogales’. Third place went to Spain with Juan Manuel de Jove Rodríguez de Torres and ‘Amarylis De Olid’. Places four to seven were all taken by British riders! Alex Bishop was fourth with  ‘Nadal Van’t Asbroek’; Emma Stoker fifth with ‘Bozooka’ and also sixth with ‘Secreto Van Het Netehof’.

 

Jude Burgess won the other class with ‘A Magic Mike Z’ in just under 25 seconds.  In second and stopping the clock in just over 27s was the Spanish rider, Jesús Bamonde Bermúdez de Castro with ‘AGR Unstoppable’ and in third was Czech rider, Emma Augier de Moussac with ‘Simba VD Bisschop’. Fourth place also went to a Spanish rider, Jesús Torres García with ‘Sky Luck de Ost’ and in fifth and sixth was the Dutch rider, Rob Schipper with ‘Novah’ and ‘Dotan van het Gerendal Z’.

 

Tomorrow the young horse classes continue with the addition of an 8yr old class, and the CSI4* event begins. The week then builds up to the grand finale, the Diputación de Cádiz Grand Prix on Sunday.
