Top French rider Penelope Leprevost and the 12yr old stallion,‘Djagger Semilly’, who is by the legendary ‘Diamant de Semilly’ x ‘Apache D’Adriers’ and owned by Richard Levallois, were the winners of the Longines Ranking, 1.45, Small Tour Grand Prix which was held in the Milton arena. Going quite early on in the class they had a foot perfect round, and were first clear in under 60s in this speed class, stopping the clock in 59.15s. Their nearest challenger was the Dutch rider, Finn Boerekamp with ‘Jay Jay Es’ (‘Big Star’ x ‘Jumbo-Jet’) finishing in 59.68s. In third, in 60.28s was the Swiss rider, Anthony Bourquard with ‘Flanagan Semilly’ (‘Kannan’ x ‘Quick Star’). Fourth was Portuguese rider, Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida with ‘Comme Le Coeur’ (‘Comme Il Faut 5’ x ‘Heartbreaker’) and in fifth was top Dutch rider, Sanne Thijssen with ‘Lolandria Z’ (‘Lux Z’ x ‘Quidam de Revel’).
This wasn’t the only podium today for the talented Finn Boerekamp, as he also had a flaming win in the biggest class today, the Medium Tour 1.50, 2PhSp, with the 10yr old, ’Kensington W’, who is by ‘VDL Zirocco Blue’ stopping the clock in just 23.77s, over 4s in front of the British rider, Megan Broadway, who took second with ‘Diatender TW’ (‘Nintender’ x ‘Diorado’). Not only that, Finn was also fifth with ‘Iceman Elrite’, a really good day at the office! In third place was Irish , Billy Twomey with ‘Jumping Jack Van de Kalevallei’ (‘Kannan’ x ‘Chin Chin’) and in fourth was the Swedish rider, Jacob Hellström with ‘Sweet Sandra’.
Ben Walker from Great Britain continues to collect rosettes here at Sunshine Tour which is kindly sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and by the Diputación provincial de Cádiz.
Today he was the winner of the biggest Small Tour class, the 2Ph Sp, 1.45 with ‘Creevy Pacino Cruise’ (‘Pacino’ x ‘Cruising’). Second and third places went to Dutch riders, Anke Bekhuis with ‘Acuero’ and Micky Morssinkhof with ‘Quintendrose E’; fourth was the Spanish rider, Nicolás Bidón Daurella with ‘Lantana de Torres’ and in fifth was Bolivian, Gonzalo Bedoya Aguilar with ‘Zeus Mag Z’.
Felipe Guinato from Brazil and ‘Chiron RC’ were top of the podium in the Big Tour 1.35, with Dutch rider, Yoni Van Santvoort and ‘Mainly San Peppy’ taking second and, once again on the podium, was Jacob Hellström, in third, with ’Pronto Van de Maltahoeve’; Italian rider Chloe Bertolini Zichy Thyssen and ‘Nalu By P&S’ were fourth, whilst the German rider, Jil Broockmann was fifth with ‘Unanime de Toxandria Z’.
The Medium Tour 1.40 was won in great style, by top Brazilian rider, Pedro Vennis with ‘Kannans Breaker Br’ (‘Kannan’ x ‘Heartbreaker’), stopping the clock in this speed class in just 61.22s, way ahead of the Italian rider, who came in second in 68.36, Antonio Sottile with ‘Israel’. Third was also an Italian, Camilla Bosio with ‘Melsina’; fourth was Spanish, Julio Arias Cueva with ‘Filou du Manoir’ and in fifth was Penelope Leprevost adding another placing to her week, this time with ‘Bingo del Tondou’.
In the Medium Tour 1.30, Laszlo Toth continued his successes this time winning with ‘Vanda’ (‘Argon’ x ‘Lord Major’) in a stunningly fast round of 66.65s, well ahead of local Spanish rider Alejandro Fernández Sánchez who stopped the clock in 73.76s with ‘Contilove PS’; third was Swiss, Noah Pfyffer von Altishofer with ‘D’Jet-Set di Vico-P’; fourth was British, Robert Bevis with ‘Compton Park’ and in fifth was Belgian, Lara Eggermont with ‘Kannet V.D. Rikse’.
There was a British win from Jude Burgess in the Medium Tour 1.20 where he was riding ‘Starcent’ (‘Big Star’). Second was French rider, Theo Guyonnet with ‘Hindi d’Ange’; German rider, Jil Broockmann was third with ‘Larimo 5’; Spanish, Ángeles Velasco Ferret was fourth with ‘Bijoux’ and Austrian, Alessandra Rich was fifth with ‘Madame Solier HB’.
In the rest of the Small Tour classes: Italian, Edoardo Ingrà and ‘Qualityhens’ was top of the Podium in the 1.35, followed by Swedish rider, Wilma Fransson with ‘Aantiq’ and then British rider Will Edwards in third, with ‘Carrickview Apollo’. In the 1.30 the top two were British, Red Morgan with ‘True Blue III’ and Grace Gilbert with ‘Juan II’ and taking third was Italian, Francesco Colasanti with ‘Ballyshan Bellagio’
The Classic Tour results: in the 1.30 the top two places were taken by Swedish rider, Lina Renstrom with ‘Nanu-Nana T’ followed by ‘Corny 16’. In the 1.20 the winner was Spanish, Valeria Chaves Jiménez with ‘Habanero’ and the winner of the 1.10 class was also Spanish, Carlota Uson Jaume with ‘Utopie Les Hauts’.
Competition continues tomorrow here at the Tour with another busy day of classes, including the highlight of the week the CSI4* Grand Prix and there are also two other Longines Ranking classes.
