Spain takes gold in the Nations Cup in the Children and Juniors categories, with Belgium winning the

There is a Dutch win from Rogier Linssen with ‘Moneypenny’ in the Ranking class, the Estrella Galicia Trophy

Spain took gold in two of the three Nations Cup categories today here at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour, which is kindly sponsored by the Junta de Andalucía, through the Consejería de Turismo and Andalucía Exterior, and by the Diputación provincial de Cádiz.

 

In the Children’s category both the Spanish and the Dutch teams ended up on four faults in the first round, with Portugal finishing on eight. In the second round Spain added another four faults to their tally finishing on eight. Portugal stepped up in the second round, with three clears and staying on eight faults. The Netherlands finally added eight faults to the team tally in the second round and, not qualifying for the jump off, took third place.

 

So the jump off took place between Spain and Portugal with both teams clear and the Spanish teams time of 103.61s just beating the Portuguese time of 111.86s giving the final win to Spain. The Spanish team members were :Carmen Bernal Medina con ‘Kiana de la Chapelle’; Lucas Hernández González with ‘Carwyn HS Z’; Vicente del Campo de Jove with ‘Chacco 39’ and Carmen Barinaga Mas with ‘Cancale’. The Chef d’equipe for  all the Spanish teams was Ricardo Jurado.

 

The Portuguese team in silver, was made up of: Matilde Rodrigues with ‘Jikaribanta’; Luisa Antunes Lopes with ‘Quast vd Coefering’; Tomás Sabino Gonçalves with ‘Charlie XVIII’ and María Inés Sequeiros with ‘Ballerina Girl DVO Z’. The Chef d’equipe for all the Portuguese teams was Luis Negrão.

 

The Dutch team in bronze, was made up of just three riders, Nanna Adams with ‘Ginette vd Kempenhoeve’; Wim Vos with ‘Ceio Zachary Z’ and Mienie Vos with ‘Don Diablo’. The Chef d’equipe for all the Dutch teams was Edwin Hoogenraat.

 

The Spanish were also the winners of the Junior Nations Cup. The team was made up  of; Carlos Borho Giron with ‘Damaskus 57’; Borja García Sánchez with ‘Cronos d’Elle’; Haizea Garmendia Ajuria with ‘Conthargos Rouge’ and Celia Cobo Teran with ‘Alto du Roc’;  taking the win in with just 4 faults between them in the jump off against the Portuguese who had eight faults. The Portuguese team was made up of: Martim Ribeiro with ‘Feliberlina T’; Leonor Azevedo E Silva with ‘Elegant D’Harmonie’; Filipe Miguens Malta da Costa with ‘Elton de St Jean’ and Alice Laruça with ‘Karim’.

 

The Young Riders Nations Cup was won by Belgium whose Chef d’equipe was Filip Lacus. The team members were: Bart Jay Junior Vandecasteele with ‘Chaccatara’; Lara Eggermont with ‘Born to Win AP Z’; Mathieu Guery with ‘Jyrado vh Bovenhoekshof’ and Leon Brutsaert with ‘Qoeketine van T&L’. The team finished on 12 in the first round but all members were all clear in the second round.

 

The Dutch team took silver place finishing overall on 16 points, eight in each round. There were only three riders in the team: Siebe Leemans with ‘Kardan’; Yoni van Santvoort with ‘Le Pleasure’ and Finn Boerekamp with ‘Mic Mac’.

 

Bronze went to Spain whose team consisted of: Juan Riva Gil with ‘Fernhill Balou Beau’; Elena Appendino with ‘Pompei van de Fruitkorf’; María García-Pertusa Bodega with ‘Gitalyn’ and Pablo Santiago Artime with ‘Chiquita d’Aiguilly’ with 12 faults in each round.

 

The big 1.50, ranking class today was sponsored by Estrella Galicia and held in the grass, David Broome arena. The Dutch rider, Rogier Linssen was the winner with the 10yr, CDE, old bay mare, ’Moneypenny’, by ‘Sea Coast Don’t Touch Tiji’ and owned by Esperanza Imports LLC.  They stopped the clock in 66.77s taking the lead from the early  leader of the class, Brazilian, João Víctor Castro with another 10yr old, ’Provence van het Bovenlos’ (‘Kannan’ x ‘Berlin’) who stopped the clock in 67.29s. These were the only two clears in under 70s. In third was Irish rider, Jessica Burke with ‘Express Trend’ (‘Future Trend’ x ‘Condios’); fourth was French, Emeric George with ‘Dune du Ru’ (‘Vagabond de la Pomme’ x ‘Apache d’Adriers’) and fifth was Spanish rider, Alberto Márquez Galobardes with ‘Aldo du Manoir’ (‘Iowa’ x ‘Arpege Pierreville’).

In the Big Tour 1.45, João Víctor Castro continued his success today taking the win, this time with ‘Charon Van Moeshof’ (‘Diamant de Semilly’ x ‘Fergar Mail’), João also was the winner of the Medium Tour 1.40, with ’Giulia Hoy’ (‘Litchi Hoy’ x ‘Dollar dela Pierre’) their best result here so far, and an excellent day at the office for this talented Brazilian rider.

 

In the other Big Tour, class the 1.35, the Swedish rider, Jacob Hellström was top of the podium with ‘Pronto van de Maltahoeve’.

 

The rest of the Medium Tour results were as follows: in the 1.45 the winner was Swiss rider, Anthony Bourquard with ‘Flanagan Semilly’ (‘Kannan’ x ‘Quick Star’); in the 1.30 there was a British win from Jude Burgess with ‘Starcent’ (‘Big Star’ x ‘Toulon’) and Spanish rider,  Ángeles Velasco Ferret was the winner of the 1.20 with ‘Bijoux’ (‘Negro’ x ‘Kigali’).

 

The Small Tour results: the 1.40 was won by Irish rider, Adam Morgan with ‘Joplin’ (‘Starpower’ x ‘Verdi TN’); the 1.35 was won by British, Laura Kennedy with ‘Leestone Singulady’ and there was also a British win in the 1.30 from, Ellie Townend with ‘ESI Hero’.

 

The Classic Tour results: The 1.30 was won by British rider, Payne Ruby, with ‘Jadraque P’; another British rider was top of the podium in the 1.20, Amelia Keen with ‘Forked Lightning’ and in the 1.10 the winner was Spanish rider, Carlota Uson Jaume with ‘Utopie Les Hauts’.
