The ‘Goya’ dressage team from the ‘Federación Hípica de Aragón’ were made up of Javier Guillén Callejas with ‘Resuelto AS’; Jorge Samper Lostao with ‘Sevillano Aran’; Paula Pérez López with ‘Helix V’ and Saúl Navascues Ruíz with ‘Hilbert Fan B Elisabeth Hoeve’; the team coach was Alfonso Gormaz Torcal. This was the winning team with a mean score of 70.352% here at the Spanish Minor’s Team Dressage Championships.
Second were team ‘Cibeles’ who are from the Federación Hípica de Madrid with a mean score a fraction behind the winners, of 70.170. Their coach was Federico Molina Cruz and the team was made up of Paloma Jiménez Díaz with ‘Gitana’; Eva Gonzalo García with ‘Just Happy’; Álvaro López Rey with ‘Crumel’ and Leonor Álvarez Calero with ‘Tirana’.
In third place were the local Andalucían team, ‘Fiesta de los Patios’ made up of Andrea Lozano Cadenas with ‘Roland’; Martín Aragón Martín with ‘Sir Medano’; Sofía Barroso Keska with ‘Quaterback’ and Curro Ramírez Morales with ‘Golden Boy’ and their coach was Joaquín Salmerón Cózar.
The medal giving ceremony was very emotional and animated and the prizes were handed out by the vice president of the ‘Real Federación Hípica Española’, José Manuel Alonso.
Today’s other winners were, Aragonese rider, Javier Guillén Callejas with another top place in the Championship. As part of the team that took gold, today he also shone in the individual section for his age group, the Young Riders, winning with 71.206% on 'Resuelto AS'. In second was Catalan rider María Badell Sánchez with 'Lets Go Crazy' (68.645%) and in third was Basque rider, Nile Urrutia López with 'Viriathus Van GC0' (67.882%). These three also lead in the overall provisional Championship scores so far after the first two qualifiers.
In fourth place in this section was the Andalucían rider, Gonzalo Medina Selas with the Spanish Spotshorse (CDE), ‘Maximus PV’ (67.618%) and in sixth was the Balearic rider, Carmen Walinski Weber with ‘Danciella’ (67.029%).
In the Juniors section Hugo Melida Gómez from Castile and León won the first qualifying round with 'Goya A', an 18-year-old CDE mare by 'Tornado', with 70.546%. Next in the standings was Andrea Lozano Cadena from Andalucía with 'Roland' (69.455); Adriana Sofía Navarro Sánchez from Murcia with 'Vaiana de Amtuna' (69.121); Alfonso Ruiz Velasco from Andalucía with 'De Yakare' (69.121) and Álvaro López Rey from Madrid with 'Crumel' (69.030).
Valencia's Mariia Iznairova took was first in the second Children’s qualifying event with 'Orus', achieving a brilliant score of 73.032%. Paloma Jiménez Díaz from Madrid with 'Gitana' was second with 72.258%. David García García from Murcia with 'Pippin's Playboy' was third, also with a test score of over 72%. Jorge Samper from Aragon with 'Sevillano Aran' took fourth with 71% and Daniela Epelde del Campo from the Basque Country with 'Steendieks Champ of Glory' rounded off the podium 69.710%.
Despite the above results, Paloma Jiménez, Jorge Samper, and David García are in the lead in this category for the overall Championship standings after two qualifying rounds..
In the first Infants section of the Championship, Madrid-born Jimena Asuero Goitia and 16-year-old chestnut 'Eddie' were the winners with a score of 71.325%. Close behind were Sara García Haro from Murcia with 18-year-old 'Destino' (71.275%), and in third was Celia Jiménez López from Andalucía with her 14-year-old 'Guns of Wild Rose', and a score of 71.200. In fourth and also from Andalucía was Alexa Antonia Giráldez Saxton with 'Olmedo XI' (70.892%), whilst Mar Pena Ríos from Catalonia with 'Brandour BCN' closed the podium with a score of 70.659.
Competition continues tomorrow with the final of the Children’s Championship, the second round of the Juniors 0*, Juniors and Infants sections.
