This Wednesday the 23rd of October, from, 9:00 till 12:00, the vet check will take place, for horses competing this week in the CSIYH*, CSI2* and the CSIO3*. Once again it will be held in arena 4 and Stallions will attend first, from 9:00 to 9:15. Re-inspection is scheduled between 12:00 and 12:10.
After the vet check the 5, 6 and 7yr olds will take to the arenas and the course designer this week is, Isidro Suárez Rodríguez. The CSI2* and the CSIO3* will not being until Thursday, the course designers this week are; Marcos Núñez García-Delgado and Rafael Suárez respectively.
In the CSIYH* we will see riders such as Mathieu Bourdeaud'Hui, who took second place in the last CSI3* Grand Prix; Columbian Rubén Arroyave, recent winner of the Young Horse Showjumping Championships in Lanakan and, Nicholas Connors, once again competing with the super mare, Chelone Z, who topped the podium in two classes last week here at Montenmedio. In this CSIYH*93 riders with 152 horses will take part.
The CSI2* continues with many riders that were here last week and some new faces, indeed 200 riders will participate with 385 caballos. Top riders from last week hoping to continue their great run of results include João Victor Castro and a regular face here at Montenmedio, Pedro Veniss; as well as Israeli rider, Uri Burnstein and another regular here, the Spanish rider, Esther Modroño.
The CSIO3*, also begins on Thursday and runs until Sunday. On Friday this week we will see the last Nations Cup round of 2024. In this CSIO3* there are 106 riders and 209 horses who will face courses from 1.40 to 1.55m, and where there are three Longines Ranking classes. In the Nations Cup there are 18 countries taking part and the Spanish team will be picked from Julio Arias Cueva, Teresa Blázquez Abascal, Jose Bono Rodríguez, Fernando Fourcade López and Sira Martínez Cullell.
